GlastoCast is an independent, unofficial podcast about Glastonbury Festival, made by Jessi and Miguel. This page explains what information we hold about you and what we do with it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
If you just visit or listen
We do not ask you to sign up, we do not show adverts and we do not use tracking cookies.
When your browser or podcast app loads a page or an episode, our server sees your internet address and the name of the app, as every website does. We use that to count how many times each episode has been played and how many people visit the site, which pages they read, which country they are in, what they search for on the site and whether they go on to a listening app. These are stored as totals: your address is not kept with them, and we cannot tell who did what. The server's own technical logs, which do include addresses, are kept for up to 30 days to deal with faults and abuse, then deleted.
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and makes it faster. Cloudflare processes the same technical information on our behalf.
If you listen in Apple Podcasts, Spotify or another app, that app has its own privacy policy and collects its own information about your listening. We only see totals they choose to share with podcasters.
If you send us a voice note or a written story
We keep the recording or the words you wrote, the first name you give, your email address if you add one, anything you type in the note box, the question you answered and the date. We also keep the wording of the permission you ticked.
We use voice notes on the podcast, on this website and on our social media, as that wording says. Your email address is only used to tell you if we use your recording. We never publish it or pass it on.
Voice notes we have not used are deleted within twelve months. You can ask us to delete yours at any time. If it has already gone out in an episode, we will remove it from our own website and feed where that is practical, but we cannot recall copies that listeners and podcast apps have already downloaded.
If you send us a message
We keep your name, email address and message so that we can reply. Messages are delivered to our email, which is hosted by MXroute. We delete them within twelve months unless we are still talking to you.
How episodes are made
Episodes are recordings we publish for anyone to hear. To write the chapter lists and summaries on this site, the finished audio is transcribed by AssemblyAI and the text is summarised with AI models through OpenRouter. Transcripts are automatic and may contain errors: if one misrepresents something you said, tell us and we will correct or remove it.
Voice notes are not sent to those services unless they are part of a published episode.
The spam check on our forms
Our forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated spam. It checks your browser when you submit a form and does not use cookies to track you.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact page and we will reply within a month. If you are in the UK and unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we will update this page.
